Commuting Information
 

By Car:

From East or West:
  • Take M8 towards Carlisle (M74 - South)
  • Take M74 towards Carlisle (South)
  • Take A71 towards Kilmarnock (West - this is a left turn at the end of A71 slip road from M74)
  • Pass Stonehouse (either through the town or through by-pass)
  • Strathaven is the next town on the A71

    From South or North:
  • Take M74
  • Take A71 towards Kilmarnock (West - this is a left turn at the end of A71 slip road from M74)
  • Pass Stonehouse (either through the town or through by-pass)
  • Strathaven is the next town on the A71

    By Public Transport:

    By bus or train: Go to East Kilbride or Hamilton (Hamilton Central is more convenient as it’s located just beside the road that goes to Strathaven). From there it’s more convenient to take a taxi for the 8 miles to Strathaven.  Or else, take a bus to Strathaven - the bus stop is in the centre of Strathaven.  There are no trains to Strathaven.
     
    By air: 
    From Prestwick Airport: Take A71 towards Edinburgh (East).  Keep going until you come to Strathaven.
    From Glasgow Airport: Take bus or taxi to Glasgow. Then follow instructions as above, depending on mode of transport.
